CodeNEXT and Heritage

#1

As the email sent today makes clear, CodeNext will have a big impact on our neighborhood. Let’s share our perspectives and ideas, in a friendly manner.

If you haven’t already seen it, our FoH CodeNEXT Guide is a great overview of how CodeNEXT affects Heritage.

Our main FoH CodeNEXT page has links to resources to learn more about CodeNEXT, the mapping of Heritage, and how to get involved.

Thanks John.

Planning on being there on June 3.

Are there any other avenues where we can lend our voices - commenting directly to the city planners?

Thanks

Yes, and that’s part of what we’re going to be coordinating including talking points. Look for emails in the coming weeks as we roll out our plan.

  • Individual calls to council and the mayor. We should be ringing their phones off the hook, especially Adler. We must remind him that he said in his 2017 State of the City address “For starters, let’s agree we will not force density in the middle of neighborhoods” and “And in exchange, let’s also agree that we will adopt a code rewrite that will give us the housing supply we need by focusing along our major corridors.”

  • FoH’s CodeNEXT committee member will meet with staff in-person for a more in-depth and focused conversation.

The Friends of Heritage CodeNEXT committee will meet tonight Monday May 15 at 8 pm at Hopfields. We will be discussing possible responses to the city’s proposed CodeNext mapping for Heritage.

I apologize for the last minute notice, but this is the start of an on-going discussion. We will have additional FoH CodeNEXT committee meetings and announce them farther in advance, as well as use the forums and email list for keeping members informed of our discussions.
